Search Marketing Industry Today



From the starting of Penguin & Panda updates by Google, marketing professionals are doing experiments for their projects. My eyes are seeing a not so good neither bad picture of the industry.

During my routine reading I found little positive news from Internet Marketers community around the world. Today, I read a post that is focused on mobile device behavior of the market. Study says mobile device search conversion rates are 28%, so we can guess people are serious with his/her smart phone not wasting time.

As per my knowledge, this time is not steady but flexible. You should need to prepare for everything; you cannot just depend on any single factor (Search Engines, Social Media, Content Marketing, Paid Advertising, Mobile device customer’s network).

Actually the condition is not only because of market's competition or Google's updates or overwhelming promotion approach. According to recent survey, after December 2012 in US people's buying power has decreased. But why a person’s buying power has decreased, it is question for economist & financial experts.

Well, I should be focus on Title & try to put few points which I really want to share.

Don't Laugh at anyone (especially on your competitor): In industry I have experienced many times, after beating someone (competitors) on search engines or sales, people enjoy victory. But you have to leave this habit. If you waste your time in celebration, then another one will beat you surely.
You need to be very alert if you desire to stay on first position.

Everyone needs different medicine for same illness: Before all these updates & revolutionary changes in market, you will apply the same strategy for similar projects. If you have two websites & you need Google Search Engine ranking for both for their individual keywords then you just need to write quality content for both & submit on quality websites without knowing another factors( relevancy, quality of websites, target audience etc).

Be Helpful as well as Fruitful: In this era of changed environment, it is compulsory to change your nature. It is time to be helpful to your target audience as well as normal people because it may be converting into your target audience. Contribute something fruitful not only your products features repeatedly. If you post funny pictures on social media sites which people like then people attract automatically to your fan page & know about you & your business.

Be careful while publishing on web: During your routine process of promotion, don't do anything instantly. First analyze your own content (Text, image, video etc...) & ask a question yourself how it is useful for target audience?

If you found fruitful content really useful for your audience then analyze the platform where you want to publish your content. If you are targeting United States located people then it doesn't make any sense to publish on other country specific sites however its Page Rank is 10.

Don't miss any techniques when you are working for brand awareness because all the people never like the same content. Use text (tweets, small blogs, articles etc), image (product pics with its buying cause, info graphics), Video (Promo video). If you have enough budgets then offer your products Free to someone who writes positive reviews for you & they have thousands of followers or fan on social media.

Success Measurements: In my mind there is only one success parameter, when people start talking about you or your brand. There are nothing more than that, each & every other measure set automatically if people market your product or service him/her self.
